Rocket Mountain Biking Club
Who are the Rockets?
The Rockets are a non-profit mountain bike (MTB) club based in southwestern Ontario, Canada with members from Essex and Kent counties and southeastern Michigan, USA. Our organization is a member of the International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA).
As a club, we host weekly fun rides, training rides, fun races and hold an 8-hour relay citizen event for charity.
If you are new to the wonderful world of mountainbiking, we offer you the chance to get out riding with people of all skill levels and abilities.
The club consists of riders from beginners just learning the sport to competitive expert races. We have a good mix of men, women and children that all partake in our events.
Every off-road cyclist - from the recreational Sunday rider to the Expert XC racer - will enjoy the benefits of a Rocket membership. Many events planned throughout the year make this much more then just another cycling club.

Rocket Essex Greenway Ride
This event is scheduled for Good Friday, April 6th.
Remember to prepare for the ride. Weather is finicky during this time of year. Please bring some money to buy lunch or snacks at stops along the way.
Riders are asked to gather at the Ruthven trailhead at 7:30am. We will start out for Old Castle for 8:00 to arrive at approximately 10:00. The plan will be to stop by at the nearby Tim Hortons for a quick bite to eat.
For riders leaving from Old Castle, you are asked to gather at the trailhead by 10am. The idea is to leave with the riders from the county and accompany them on the way back arriving about 12pm. We will stop along the way for lunch or snacks. After the break, we will make our way back to Old Castle arriving around 2 - 3 pm.
The distance for the entire path route is approximately 85km. For riders who may think they're not up to the distance or wish to ride a shorter distance, they're welcome to start along at any point along the trail or turn back at any point.
Expect the speed to be about 20km/hr depending on the level of riders. We may split up into groups to help pull and push newer cyclists so they are not left behind
In the event of inclement weather, rain dates or the event are Saturday and Sunday.
Looking for to seeing you out there.
